    Frequently Asked Questions

When is the best time to cut a tree to make sure it lasts until Christmas?

    – The single biggest thing you can do to make sure the tree lasts is keep it well watered, and never let the tree stand bowl go dry. Some tree species will last better than others. If you want to cut a tree around Thanksgiving or earlier, consider a cypress, fir or pine. If you cut later, you can look at our Norway Spruce, just know its going to drop more needles than other types of trees no matter how well you care for it.

    How much do trees cost?

    – Trees will be tagged from $85 for most 6-7ft trees, up to $149 for our tallest 9+ft trees. Your $50 deposit will be applied to the tree purchase.

    Why do we need reservations?

    – Reservations help spread the traffic out throughout the days we’re open, making our parking lot easier to navigate and makes it easier for our staff to move trees through the processing area without excessive wait times.

What if it rains or snows on the date of our reservation?

    – Its rare that we have all-day inclement weather. Adjust your schedule accordingly to show up at the most favorable time. We’ll work to accommodate reschedules when its absolutely necessary.

How do I pick out my tree? And can we come select and tag a tree before we cut it?

    – You’ll pick your tree when you arrive to cut it. We do not offer early tagging.

Do I need to bring my own saw?

    – We have saws you can use or you may bring your own non-powered saw. You may not bring any kind of powered saw.

What else do I need to know about cutting my own tree?

    – You might want to bring a towel, blanket or tarp to kneel or lay on while cutting. Cut the stump as close to the ground as possible. A helper can tilt the tree away, in the direction of the cut, to keep the saw blade from getting pinched.

Is there a good selection of trees?

    – We think so. As a new farm, we know our inventory is still growing and most of our tree inventory is 6-9ft tall. We do not have anything 10+ft. We always expect the biggest, fullest trees to go first, but even the last reservation to arrive will have a good selection because we must retain some of our 6-7ft trees to grow into our 8-9ft trees for the next year.

What if we don’t find a tree we like?

    – Your deposit can be applied to the precut Fraser fir trees we have available, or we can issue a refund.

    Are pets permitted?

    – Yes. Dogs are permitted so long as they are leashed the entire time on property and the leash is 6ft or less (no retractable leashes).

How do I get the tree home?

    – Trees can be tied on just about any kind of vehicle. We provide tree netting and rope tie downs free-of-charge.

What if we can’t set up the tree right away when we get home?

    – To keep the tree as fresh as possible, stand it up in a bucket of water, out of direct sunlight, until you’re ready to set it up. Before you set it up, cut 3/4 of an inch or more off the bottom of the trunk to ensure its able to take up water. The cypress trees are especially prone to drying out if not kept in water.
